I am proud to be a former Navy Brat, living in six different states over seventeen years, and attending nine different schools. I have lived in Oklahoma for twenty-eight years, settling here after my father retired to be close to my grandparents. I love watching movies of every genre and listening to all types of music. Yes, I am fluent in movie quotes! I drink Diet Coke to keep me sane, and eat chocolate because it makes me happy. I bring 23 years of teaching elementary school in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. I graduated from Moore High School in 1990 and the University of Central Oklahoma in 1994. I have been married to Mark Hixson for 20 years, and we have three energetic boys. Will, 17, is a junior at Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School and loves to play cello and act for Bishop McGuinness' One Act Plays. Auguste, 14, is an eighth grader at St. John Nepomuk Catholic School who plays the trumpet, and is active in Boy Scouts. Alec, 9, is a third grader at St. John Nepomuk Catholic School and he builds with Legos all the time. I am blessed to be a part of St. John Nepomuk Catholic School, and attend St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. It is a close school community and parish, where I am loved for who I am. This is a lovely place to teach and raise a family.
