Beatification Mass for Fr. Stanley Rother
Join Archbishop Coakley and Cardinal Amato on Sept. 23 for this historic event. The Beatification Mass Fr. Stanley Rother is at 10 a.m. at the Cox Convention Center. It is the first beatification for a martyr in the United States and the first beatification of a U.S.-born priest. It is free, open to the public and no tickets are required. National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children
The fourth annual "National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children" will be observed Sept 9. The Oklahoma ceremony will occur on the campus of St. Gregory's University in Shawnee. The day begins with Mass at 10 a.m., followed by a Rosary procession to the grotto of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The observation closes with a blessing of wreaths. Light refreshments served afterwards. The wreaths will be distributed by members of the Knights of Columbus to various locations in the state were the remains of aborted children are buried.
Mass of remembrance for suicide
In memory of those lost to suicide, a Mass of Remembrance will be offered on the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows, at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 15, at St. Francis of Assisi, 1901 N.W. 18 in Oklahoma City. Family and friends who have lost a loved one to suicide are invited to attend as well as anyone who wishes to pray and comfort those who mourn the loss. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Our Lady of Fatima centennial tour
The International Pilgrim Virgin Statue will be in Oklahoma as part of the world Apostolate of Fatima U.S. Tour for Peace. The historic tour marks the 100th anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima, Portugal. The tour will be at the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima/St. Joseph, Bison, Oct. 13; St. Mary, Guthrie, Oct. 14; St. Monica, Edmond, Oct. 15; St. Damien, Edmond, Oct. 16; St. Paul the Apostle, Del City, Oct. 17; and Prince of Peace, Altus, Oct. 18.
Archbishop Coakley invites married couples who are celebrating milestone anniversaries (25, 40, 50+) in the calendar year 2017 to attend a special Anniversary Mass at 3 p.m. Oct. 15 at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 3214 N.
