Discipleship with the Saints


A series called “Discipleship with the Saints” features presenters discussing fundamentals of discipleship as lived out by some of the Catholic Church’s greatest saints – July 17, The Venerable Servant of God Stanley Rother; Aug. 14, St. Teresa of Kolkata; Oct. 23, St. John Paul II; Nov. 13, St. Francis of Assisi; and Dec. 11, Mary, mother of Christ.  Reds, Whites and Brews 2017


Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City presents Reds, Whites and Brews at 6 p.m. July 27 at Cattlemen's Event Center, 1325 S. Agnew Ave., OKC.  Rother prayer service


A prayer service recognizing the 36th anniversary of the martyrdom of The Venerable Servant of God Stanley Rother will be at 6:30 p.m. July 28 at St. Eugene, 2400 W. Hefner Rd., OKC. Personal reflections shared by Fr. Don Wolf, pastor at St. Eugene and cousin of Fr. Rother.


 Okarche Rother anniversary Mass


Join Archbishop Coakley for the 36th anniversary memorial Mass for Fr. Rother. It will be at 5 p.m. July 29 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 211 W. Missouri in Okarche. Following the Mass, visit the Knights of Columbus Carnival, Okarche Council 3220, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Holy Trinity parking lot. The event features hamburgers and hot dogs, inflatables and kids’ games, hay rides, dunk tank, bingo, raffle drawings and cash prizes, live band and karaoke. Sale items include Fr.  Relationship communication workshop


During the workshop, participants will explore the origins of communication, recognize the value of improving skills, and discern the nature of conflict in various settings. The workshop is 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. July 29, at the Catholic Pastoral Center, 7501 Northwest Expressway. Lunch provided.  Quo Vadis Days retreat


A four-day discernment retreat at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Youth Camp is for young men in high school and college who want to learn more about listening to God’s call in their lives, and to help determine if their vocation may be the priesthood. Archbishop’s Dinner 2017


Archbishop Coakley and the board of directors of the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma invite you to attend the 2017 Archbishop’s Dinner at 7 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, 7000 N.W. The Heritage Gallery at the Catholic Pastoral Center, 7501 Northwest Expressway, is presenting “The Shepherd Cannot Run: A retrospective on the life of Father Stanley Rother.” The exhibit is open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday-Friday, and on the following Saturdays from 9 a.m. to Noon: July 29 and Aug. 19. Our Lady of Fatima centennial tour


The International Pilgrim Virgin Statue will be in Oklahoma as part of the world Apostolate of Fatima U.S. Tour for Peace. The historic tour marks the 100th anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima, Portugal. The tour will be at the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima/St. Joseph, Bison, Oct. 13; St. Mary, Guthrie, Oct. 14; St. Monica, Edmond, Oct. 15; St. Damien, Edmond, Oct. 16; St. Paul the Apostle, Del City, Oct. 17; and Prince of Peace, Altus, Oct. 18.

Sr. Maria, parishioners at St. James and community members gather every morning at 11:30 to pray the Rosary at 1240 S.W. 44 at the corner of S.W. 44 and Blackwelder Avenue near the abortion center. Anyone can participate.
