Confirmation

Our Confirmation preparation consists of weekly meetings of small faith communities that gather here at St John's in the Fall and Spring Semesters to keep parish life in mind. It is based on the “Chosen” catechist curriculum. We gather in large group for the first portion of instruction, then divide into small groups for more intimate conversation and instruction.  Each group consists of adult facilitators and candidates. Students begin their Confirmation journey their freshman year and complete the Sacrament of Confirmation in the spring of their sophomore year. Two dynamic retreats, one per year, are held during the Confirmation instruction year!  We also offer a variety of high school activities, conferences and mission trips that all students are encouraged to participate

We are:

  • 1) Grounded in contemporary initiation theology
  • 2) Rooted in the life of an evangelizing and catechizing community of believers
  • 3) Focused on initiating young people into on-going faith development with the Church
