Meet Mrs. Brasses!
Hello! I am an Oklahoman native, cradle Catholic, and received my primary education in Sulphur. I then attended the University of Central Oklahoma and graduated from 2012 with a bachelors in Marriage/Family Life Education. I also obtained two minors: sociology and human environmental sciences. In addition, during my college time I was the president of Central Campus Family Relations and on the board for Phi Upsilon Omicron honor sorority.
After graduation, I began my additional college and clinical requirements to sit and acquire my International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC/RLC); Which I obtained in 2013 and started my career at The Children's Hospital at OU Medical Systems in 2014. During my time at The Children's Hospital, I taught antepartum breastfeeding classes and clinical management to medical personnel. I wrote a journal article which was published in the peer reviewed journal of Clinical Lactation. In high school I became a published poet as well.
While I thought I was on the clear path for my career, God had other plans. My husband began increasing in his corporate position and my daughter, while still a toddler, is growing rapidly. Don't they all! It was a swift wake up call from the Lord that he had other plans for me, and my families needs were changing. My husband and I have been a parishioners here since moving to Yukon in 2014. Therefore, I have been following STJN planning to send our daughter here, and learned of this position through social media. I thank STJN for allowing me this opportunity to help our students grow in English/Literature and I sincerely look forward to seeing all the great things they will do with their futures! Go Falcons!
