Discipleship at St. John Nepomuk
Since 2014, our parish has been engaged in a Discipleship Process initiated by the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City Office of Parish Leadership Engagement. We spent two years forming leaders who could eventually make the process available to the whole parish, and are now able to open small groups for our parishioners.
Discipleship in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City means making Christ part of your daily life, knowing who He is and why it matters, and being equipped to share the Gospel message with others. Every Pope since Paul VI has encouraged the faithful to develop a personal relationship with Jesus, noting that we are all called to make disciples, and that we cannot give what we do not have. Archbishop Coakley echoed that call to discipleship in his 2013 Pastoral Letter, Go Make Disciples. He said, “Go make disciples…is our mandate. For all of us and for each of us, it is both an invitation and a challenge; a call and a mission…. God creates us for holiness. God calls us to become saints.”

Discipleship is for all adults in our parish. The entire process takes about a year, but all we ask is your commitment to the first seven weeks. After that, you can decide if you want to proceed.
Please prayerfully consider taking this opportunity to make Jesus the center of your life, and to grow in the habits of a disciple with a small group of new friends. God loves you, specifically, and longs to be close to you. All you have to do is say YES!
